Nasir El-Rufai has disclosed that he, along with Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, is actively collaborating to form a powerful political front aimed at removing President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
El-Rufai shared the update during his appearance at the Arewa TechFest event in Katsina, stating that a critical meeting of the coalition was held at 8 PM on Tuesday, where significant decisions were made.
Sources confirm that the coalition, in a bid to strengthen its base, has chosen the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its operational platform.
The opposition’s blueprint includes uniting disaffected political groups, civil rights activists, and influential professionals to garner nationwide support.
A source familiar with the discussions mentioned that consensus on using the ADC was reached after an intense overnight strategy session involving all three leaders.
El-Rufai also remarked that Bosun Tijani, the current minister, would retain his position due to his commendable work, despite the unfolding political realignment.
This collaboration signals a major shift in the political landscape, especially considering the previous rivalry between Atiku and Obi, which many believe split opposition votes in 2023.
Their combined support back then exceeded Tinubu’s 8.7 million votes, suggesting that a unified front could dramatically alter the outcome in 2027.
