Atiku hits back at Bwala’s criticism, accuses Tinubu camp of fearing coalition growth

-

The Atiku Media Office has strongly rebuked remarks made by Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Policy Communication, during a recent TVC interview.

The office expressed disdain over Bwala’s comments, calling them both ironic and deeply disappointing. Bwala, once a spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar’s 2023 presidential campaign, has now shifted allegiances, finding himself at odds with his former principal.

The Atiku Media Office stated that Bwala’s recent attempts to undermine Atiku’s legacy and future political ambitions reflect a sense of bitterness and a desperate effort to align himself with an administration struggling to cope with the rising momentum of the coalition led by Atiku and other progressive figures.

The statement emphasized that Atiku Abubakar does not seek validation from political turncoats like Bwala, who have switched parties without any reluctance.

It pointed out that Bwala’s current relevance is entirely tied to the position he once held under Atiku’s leadership, suggesting that this connection should inspire humility rather than arrogance.

Further, the statement accused the Tinubu administration of engaging in a relentless smear campaign against Atiku, questioning why such attacks would persist if Atiku were no longer a political threat.

The Atiku Media Office argued that the ruling party’s continued focus on Atiku is a clear indication of their fear, as Atiku remains the most formidable opposition figure in Nigeria.

Highlighting Atiku’s central role in Nigeria’s democratic evolution since 1999, the office reaffirmed his commitment to reform, restructuring, and electoral integrity.

It dismissed Bwala’s criticisms as a futile attempt to rewrite history and downplay Atiku’s legacy as a unifier, builder, and patriot.

The Atiku Media Office concluded by reaffirming Atiku Abubakar’s unwavering dedication to Nigeria’s future. It urged Nigerians to stay focused on the task of national rebuilding and warned against allowing petty political games and egos of presidential aides to distract from this critical mission.
