Akwa Ibom people back Tinubu, Akpabio, Governor Eno for 2027 elections

-

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has revealed that the people of Akwa Ibom State, particularly from the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District, have declared their full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, and himself to contest unopposed in the 2027 general elections.

He made this known on Friday during the second phase of his constituency empowerment programme, where thousands of constituents benefited from various support items, and key community projects were officially commissioned.

While addressing the crowd, Akpabio praised Governor Eno’s leadership style, describing him as a man of integrity and peace who has succeeded in uniting the people of the state.

According to him, the existing harmony between the state and federal government has brought development and stability to Akwa Ibom.

“Thanks to Governor Umo Eno’s peaceful disposition and commitment to unity, we are experiencing unprecedented calm and collaboration in Akwa Ibom. This has not gone unnoticed, as President Tinubu himself appreciates the cooperation coming from our state,” Akpabio said.

The Senate President then put forward the proposal to adopt Tinubu, Eno, and himself as sole candidates for the presidency, governorship, and Senate seat respectively in the 2027 polls. The suggestion was met with overwhelming approval from the audience, who voiced their support during a vote.

During the empowerment event, Akpabio distributed a range of items including vehicles, tricycles, refrigerators, sewing machines, and cargo tricycles.

He also disbursed cash grants running into billions of naira and awarded scholarships to beneficiaries across the three senatorial districts in the state.
