Senate President Godswill Akpabio has described the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) as a critical institution for addressing Nigeria’s security and socio-economic challenges.
He pledged the full support of the National Assembly, emphasizing the agency’s strategic importance in enhancing national security and development.
Akpabio stressed the urgent need for increased investment in space science and technology, warning that Nigeria could fall behind in the global knowledge economy if strategic actions are not taken. He urged NASRDA to work closely with the National Assembly to harness its technological expertise for national development.
The remarks were made at NASRDA’s 2025 Top Management Retreat, themed “Beyond the Horizon: Building a Resilient Workforce for Space Economy and National Security.” The event brought together stakeholders to discuss the future of space technology in national development.
