Ajax head coach Francesco Farioli has left the club following a dramatic end to the season, where they surrendered the Eredivisie title to PSV Eindhoven. Despite a nine-point lead with seven games to go, Ajax finished a point behind the champions.
Farioli, 36, had signed a three-year contract last summer but will depart after just one season. He cited differences in vision and approach with the club’s management as the reason for his departure.
Ajax technical director Alex Kroes expressed disappointment at Farioli’s exit, highlighting his role in guiding the team to Champions League qualification and improving the club’s high-performance culture. Kroes now faces the challenge of finding a new coaching team ahead of pre-season preparations on June 26.
