Everton condemns death threats against James Tarkowski

Everton Football Club has strongly condemned death threats made towards defender James Tarkowski and his family following a tackle in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool. The Premier League’s refereeing body deemed that Tarkowski should have been sent off for the late challenge on Alexis Mac Allister.

The club released a statement denouncing the threats, saying they have “no place in football or society.” Everton is working with Tarkowski, his family, and the authorities to address the situation.

Tarkowski’s wife, Samantha, expressed her outrage on Instagram, calling the abuse “beyond disgusting.” She emphasized that her husband is not just a footballer, but a husband, father, and human being.

Tarkowski apologized to Mac Allister after the game, acknowledging that his tackle was not acceptable. Everton manager David Moyes also condemned the online abuse, stating that it is “not acceptable for anybody in any walk of life.”
