Abbo slams Akpabio over Senator Natasha’s suspension

Former Adamawa North Senator Elisha Abbo has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of unfairly targeting Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, saying his leadership style resembles that of an emperor.

Appearing on Prime Time on Arise Television, Abbo criticized Akpabio’s role in the suspension of Akpoti-Uduaghan, which followed a disagreement over seating arrangements.

As part of the sanctions, Akpoti-Uduaghan’s security detail was withdrawn, and payments for her and her staff were halted, a move Abbo believes puts her life in danger.

“When you strip someone of security, you are leaving them vulnerable,” he warned.

Abbo recalled how similar disputes in the past were resolved diplomatically, contrasting Akpabio’s approach with how the 8th Senate, led by Bukola Saraki, managed internal conflicts.

On the reported recall process against Akpoti-Uduaghan, Abbo dismissed it as a fraudulent exercise, claiming that many of the signatures being collected were forged.
