U.S cautions Nigerians on visa overstay, warns of lifetime ban

The United States Embassy has issued a strong warning to visa holders, stressing the severe consequences of overstaying their permitted duration.

In a statement shared on X, the embassy warned that individuals who exceed their authorized stay risk facing a permanent ban from entering the U.S.

“If you overstay your U.S. visa, you could face a permanent ban on traveling to the United States,” the embassy stated.

It further emphasized that consular officers have full access to applicants’ immigration history and will be aware of any past violations.

The statement clarified that there is no excuse for overstaying, as visa holders are responsible for complying with immigration rules.
