Man caught with fresh human head in edo, police launch investigation

The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old man caught with a fresh human head in the Evbuotubu area of Benin.

According to the command’s spokesperson, CSP Moses Yamu, the suspect was apprehended in the early hours of Friday by officers from the Evbuotubu Division, working alongside local vigilantes. During questioning, he led officers to a decapitated body found near Eweka Shopping Plaza.

The victim was later identified as 43-year-old Edobor Lawrence from Osagie Street, Evbuotubu Quarters. His remains have been taken to a hospital for preservation while investigations continue.

State Commissioner of Police Betty Otimenyin expressed condolences to the victim’s family and assured the public that all those involved in the crime would be brought to justice. She urged young people to seek legal means of livelihood and warned against criminal activities.

The police have called on residents to report any suspicious behavior as they continue efforts to ensure public safety.
