The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that the registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will close on March 8, 2025, with no plans for an extension.
In a statement released on Tuesday, JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, emphasized that the registration deadline had been clearly outlined in advertisements and the official UTME schedule.
“We want to make it clear to all prospective candidates that there will be no extension of the registration period,” the statement read.
JAMB also revealed that over 1.5 million candidates have successfully completed their registration, which aligns with its projected figures for the 2025 examination.
The board urged candidates to register as soon as possible to avoid any last-minute challenges.
“There has been a noticeable drop in the number of daily registrations, and we encourage those intending to participate to complete their registration promptly,” JAMB stated.
The board further explained that its calendar is structured to accommodate essential activities such as the examination, result processing, and admissions exercise. Any change to the registration timeline, it noted, would disrupt both JAMB’s schedule and that of partner agencies involved in the admissions process.
As the deadline approaches, candidates are advised to finalize their registration within the stipulated period to ensure they can sit for the 2025 UTME.
