The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has empowered 531 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members with N531,000 each and business starter packs to enhance their self-reliance. The initiative, a collaboration with NYSC, Corporate Affairs Commission, and Kudimata Nigeria Ltd, aims to improve lives through financial empowerment.
The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, Mr Bayo Ojulari, represented by the Group Chief Operating Officer, Mr Roland Ewubare, presented the gifts to the corps members in Abuja. Ojulari described the gesture as a strategic investment in Nigeria’s future and a reflection of NNPC Ltd’s values of integrity and excellence.
The beneficiaries were selected from over 800,000 corps members who participated in a financial literacy training program, with 531 finalists scoring at least 70% to qualify. The Director-General of NYSC, Brig-Gen Olakunle Nafiu, commended NNPC Ltd for providing both training and tangible tools, while the Registrar-General of CAC encouraged the beneficiaries to register their businesses formally.
