FCT Minister Wike inspects projects, boasts of over 60 renovated public schools

-

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has said that his administration has renovated and fully furnished more than 60 public schools across the territory as part of broader efforts to enhance infrastructure.

He made the statement during a tour of ongoing development works in Gwagwalada and Kwali Area Councils on Friday.

“We have done a lot of work in schools. The schools we have renovated and furnished are more than 60 so far,” Wike said, highlighting his administration’s commitment to education.

Wike stressed that while road infrastructure remains a visible marker of development, the FCT is also heavily investing in health and education. He assured that attention would be given to every sector.

“I can tell you that no sector would be left abandoned, every sector will be focused on,” the minister affirmed.

On the importance of road infrastructure, Wike said farmers along the A2 to Pai axis would benefit significantly as they can now transport their goods more easily to the city and markets.

He also pointed out that roads play a role in reducing crime rates. “When people commit offences and there is no road to chase them, it would become a problem,” he explained.

“But when you see this kind of road with streetlights, you will have to think twice before you commit any offence,” he added.
