Kebbi Govt sponsors 100 students in India with over N266 million

The Kebbi State Government has approved and released over ₦266 million to fund the tuition fees of 100 students of Kebbi origin studying in Indian universities.

The disclosure was made at a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Isah Tunga, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Hussaini Tata.

He described the move as a significant milestone in the administration’s quest to elevate educational standards in the state.

Tunga revealed that the payment, amounting to N266,964,560, reflects Governor Nasir Idris’s unwavering commitment to fostering academic advancement.

He praised the governor’s proactive stance in supporting quality education and character development, noting that the Ministry remains deeply appreciative of his contributions.
