Julius Abure given 24 hours to defend self as LP leadership crisis deepens

-

The internal strife within the Labour Party intensified on Wednesday as Senator Nenadi Usman, head of the party’s interim leadership, denounced Julius Abure, accusing him of falsely presenting himself as the party’s leader.

During a media briefing in Abuja, Usman revealed that the Labour Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) has handed Abure a 24-hour deadline to justify why he should not face punitive action for what they describe as misconduct and behaviour contrary to party ethics.

She condemned Abure’s recent activities, describing them as harmful to the party’s reputation and unity.

Usman further urged him to redirect his energy towards clearing his name from serious allegations of corruption and forgery rather than tarnishing the image of the party and creating division among its members.
