A young bride identified as Saudat has been taken into custody in the Farawa area of Kano State following allegations that she poisoned and fatally stabbed her husband, Salisu, just two days after their wedding.
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday evening, shortly after the couple tied the knot in a family-arranged ceremony on Sunday.
Sources within the community claim the marriage lacked mutual affection, with reports suggesting Salisu was initially unwilling but was convinced by relatives to go ahead with the union.
The situation nearly spiraled out of control as local youths tried to seek revenge, but swift intervention by security operatives prevented further unrest and led to the suspect’s arrest.
At the time of filing this report, police authorities had yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
