Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has disclosed that the Muna IDP camp will cease operations in the next two weeks, marking another step in Borno State’s resettlement drive.
The disclosure came during an early morning visit to the facility on Monday, which once hosted thousands of people displaced by the Boko Haram conflict.
With a significant portion, three-quarters of the population, already reintegrated into communities, the government is now prepared to complete the process.
During the visit, Zulum reiterated his earlier pledge to eliminate all displacement camps within Maiduguri and nearby areas, a goal nearly accomplished through the closure of over 12 official sites.
He assured the roughly 10,000 remaining residents of continued assistance to help them transition successfully into normal life.
