Farmer dies, two others injured in bee attack in Osun

A fatal bee attack on a farm in Osun State has resulted in the death of a farmer, Mr. Abideen Olabiyi, while two other men sustained serious injuries.

The incident occurred on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Olobe Farm in Igbajo and was confirmed by the Otan Ayegbaju Police Division the following day.

The injured individuals, Mr. Solomon Kingsley and Chief Olusegun Alalade, both residents of the Alalade Compound in Ada, were also caught in the swarm but managed to survive the attack.

They were quickly taken to a hospital for treatment.

According to a police report, the incident was reported by Mr. Babasanjo Alalade, a relative of the victims. The report explained that the three men had been working on the farm when the swarm of bees attacked.

Unfortunately, Mr. Olabiyi did not survive the attack, while the other two managed to escape with injuries.

The body of the deceased was taken to the Healthy Paradise Mortuary in Ikirun for an autopsy, while the two survivors are being treated for their injuries.
