Malam Ibrahim Dangwale, a revered leader in Turare, Dutsin-Ma LGA of Katsina State, has been killed by his abductors despite his family paying the ransom demanded for his freedom, a northern security analyst has disclosed.
According to Bakatsine, who revealed the development on X (formerly Twitter), Dangwale’s lifeless body was later recovered in Danmusa, a nearby local government area.
“The ransom was paid, yet the victim was executed and dumped in Danmusa,” Bakatsine stated in his post.
Dangwale was reportedly seized by armed criminals operating in Turare, a village repeatedly plagued by bandit attacks.
His abduction sent shockwaves through the community, prompting efforts by his family and associates to negotiate his release.
Unfortunately, those efforts ended in tragedy, with his remains found days after the ransom had been handed over.
The killing has intensified public calls for a tougher response to insecurity in northern Nigeria, with Bakatsine urging authorities to act swiftly. “This level of cruelty is unacceptable,” he noted.
