Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State, has expressed strong support for President Bola Tinubu, asserting that the president is leading the country with a mandate given by the Nigerian people.
While speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) unity rally held in Abuja on Thursday, Bello called on Nigerians to remain patient and confident in the administration’s efforts to stabilize and grow the country.
He dismissed any speculation about the presidency changing hands in 2027, saying, “There will be no vacancy in Aso Rock come 2027. President Tinubu is strengthening Nigeria, and the mandate he carries is that of the people.”
Bello also addressed rumors suggesting tensions between former President Muhammadu Buhari and President Tinubu, describing such reports as baseless.
Encouraging former APC members who left for other political parties to return, he said the ruling party remains the most effective platform for progress.
“You don’t abandon your own house. If you’ve left the APC, it’s time to return. Speaking from within the party adds value, but if you’re outside, you’re just making noise,” he concluded.
