The Nigerian Air Force carried out two separate aerial assaults as part of Operation Hadin Kai, targeting insurgent hideouts in Borno State’s Sambisa forest and the Southern Tumbuns.
A statement issued on Thursday by NAF spokesperson Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame said the first strike occurred in the early hours of the morning at Kollaram, an area notorious for housing terrorist commanders.
The attack was prompted by actionable intelligence and surveillance visuals which indicated the presence of several senior insurgent figures.
Multiple structures identified as active operational hubs—some fitted with solar panels—were bombed, resulting in casualties and the destruction of vital infrastructure.
The second mission took place around 3:55 p.m. in Arra, within the expansive Sambisa region. Reconnaissance had earlier detected groups of terrorists, and visuals obtained in real-time confirmed the optimal window for engagement.
Using advanced precision-guided weaponry, NAF aircraft struck the coordinates, successfully dismantling the cluster of threats and limiting the enemy’s ability to regroup or launch further attacks.
According to Ejodame, the series of strikes are part of ongoing efforts to degrade insurgent networks and ensure no safe haven remains for terrorists within Nigeria’s borders.
