Grief has enveloped the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the confirmed killing of its Director of Administration, Dr. Abdulraif Adekunle Adeniji, who was abducted in January.
The late party official was seized on January 26, 2025, in Chikakore, Kubwa, by gunmen armed with assault rifles.
The attackers reportedly took him, his wife, and his brother.
Tragically, his wife was shot dead on the spot after she failed to keep up with the abductors.
Dr. Adeniji had only been visiting his brother when the incident occurred. Despite the payment of an estimated N90 million in ransom, reports say the captors still killed him.
In a statement issued on Thursday, April 10, APC’s Deputy Director of Administration, Ubagha Abel, announced the immediate closure of the party’s National Secretariat till April 14.
“The National Secretary received the heartbreaking news and has ordered the suspension of all party and work activities,” the statement read.
“This period should be used for quiet reflection and prayers for the late Dr. Adeniji. May his soul rest in peace.”
The party has also directed that its flags be flown at half mast throughout the mourning period.
