A major breakthrough in the fight against banditry was recorded in Zamfara State on Tuesday as troops of the Nigerian Army neutralized Bello Kaura, a notorious figure linked to years of bloodshed and abductions in Anka Local Government Area.
The successful ambush was revealed by security expert Bakatsine, who posted details of the operation on his official X platform.
“During the operation, they eliminated several bandits, including the notorious leader, Bello Kaura,” Bakatsine wrote. “Kaura had long terrorized the people of Anka.”
Military sources have described the operation as a precision strike, with several members of Kaura’s gang reportedly taken out alongside him.
Locals have expressed relief at the news, hoping it signals the beginning of peace in the troubled region.
