Bandits strike Zamfara village, leave several dead, dozens abducted

A deadly attack by suspected bandits in the early hours of Wednesday has left multiple residents dead in Banga Village, located within Kurya Madaro District of Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, Zamfara State.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama, who disclosed the incident via his official Twitter handle, said the attackers invaded the village around 1:30 a.m., unleashing gunfire on sleeping residents.

“Intelligence sources confirmed that at around 0130hrs, armed bandits stormed the village, opening fire and killing an unspecified number of people,” Zagazola stated.

According to him, the attackers also kidnapped several villagers during the raid, though the number and identities of those taken remain unclear.

Local authorities are reportedly making arrangements to visit the affected community to determine the exact toll of the assault and coordinate a response.
