A major anti-cybercrime operation by the Ilorin office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) led to the arrest of 47 suspected internet fraudsters across various parts of Kwara State on Thursday.

In a statement, the EFCC revealed that the sting operation was initiated after actionable intelligence identified the suspects’ involvement in online scams.

Raids were executed at strategic locations, including Awolowo Road, Tanke, and Harmony Estate in Ilorin, as well as Ganmo and Amoyo in Ifelodun LGA.

During the operation, EFCC operatives seized 10 luxury cars, 74 mobile phones, 18 laptop computers, and a motorcycle—all believed to have been acquired through illicit means.

The agency confirmed that all suspects are under investigation and will be prosecuted once sufficient evidence has been gathered.
