President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved several strategic appointments in the education sector, naming Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Aminu as the new Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB).
Dr. Aminu, a specialist in Automobile Technology, holds a Ph.D. in the field and a Master’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
With nearly three decades of experience in academia, administration, research, and policy formulation, he previously served as Director of Procurement at the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).
A strong proponent of vocational education and youth empowerment, Dr. Aminu has contributed to research on innovative teaching techniques and poverty alleviation.
President Tinubu has tasked him with improving NABTEB’s certification processes to support Nigeria’s industrial workforce.
In addition, the President appointed Idris Olorunnimbe as Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Board. Olorunnimbe, the Group CEO of The Temple Company, has a diverse background spanning education, entertainment, and sports.
He also played a pivotal role in youth employment programs as a former board member of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF).
Other UBEC appointments include Rasaq Olajuwon as Deputy Executive Secretary (Technical) and Tunde Ajibulu as Deputy Executive Secretary (Services).
Olajuwon previously served as Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA), while Ajibulu, a Fellow of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), holds leadership roles at Tangent Construction Nigeria Limited and Covenant Consultancy Services.
